Your first two weeks

There is no right speed. This is a companion for the first two weeks: what to do, what to expect, and what to write down.

Before night 1

Nights 1 to 3: start at neutral
Wear it with the lower tray at neutral. Nothing is pushing your jaw forward. Light soreness is possible in the first few days, and your jaw may feel slightly forward when you wake up. That fades after you take the mouthguard out. Extra saliva is possible at first.
In the morning: rinse it in cold water, brush it gently with a soft toothbrush and toothpaste, rinse again, dry it and keep it in its case.
Nights 4 to 7: one step, if you want to
After a few nights you can use the key. Turn each screw to the same mark on the scale, on both sides. That moves the lower tray forward one small step. Change one thing at a time, so you know what you are feeling.
If your jaw or teeth are sore, move the lower tray halfway back toward neutral. Moving back is part of the design, not a failure.
Week 2: keep, adjust or back off
Stay where you are if it feels fine. Move another step only if you want to, the same mark on both sides. Keep notes: they are how you will decide by night 60.
